AI isn’t just for tech nerds, coders, or people building robots that may or may not one day replace us. AI is for you, me, and that neighbor who still can’t figure out how to connect their printer to Wi-Fi.
Specifically, ChatGPT can help with everyday tasks that make your day smoother, easier, and maybe even a little more enjoyable.
Here are ten ways I personally think you can use ChatGPT to actually enhance your daily routine (and yes, I’ve tested most of these myself).
Need to spruce up your resume?
Draft a cover letter without wanting to cry?
Or maybe you just need to send a professional email that doesn’t sound like a robot wrote it. ChatGPT can help polish your words, suggest stronger phrasing, and even brainstorm career growth ideas.
For me personally, I have taught ChatGPT to create a special YouTube package for all of my videos, where it gives me a set of possible titles, descriptions, tags, topic outlines, and even a script if I need it. It also offers b-roll and thumbnail ideas.
This saves me tons of time planning my videos.
💡 Pro tip: Ask ChatGPT, “Rewrite my resume summary to sound more confident but not arrogant.”
I will admit, my wife uses this much more than I since she is the cook of the household.
If you are tired of asking yourself the world’s hardest question: “What’s for dinner?” ChatGPT can give you recipe ideas based on whatever combination of groceries you have left in the fridge.
Or if there is a type of food you are craving, it can recommend a recipe and ingredients so you can pick some stuff up from the supermarket.
Using this when you only have a few things at home, it is amazing because you will get ideas that you would have never thought of.
Example: “I have chicken, spinach, rice, and potatoes. Give me 3 dinner recipes under 30 minutes.”
Done. Crisis averted.
Planning a trip can feel like a full-time job. There is so much to do before you go, especially if you are taking a long or far trip that requires multiple flights, hotels, etc.
ChatGPT can help create itineraries, suggest budget hacks, and even find cool hidden gems you won’t see in a generic travel blog.
You can ask it to search the web and find you deals for flights/hotels and even check to see the best times to visit your destination.
Bonus: You can even ask it to translate useful phrases if you’re going abroad.
Don’t know how to get wine stains out of your carpet? Or how to clean your coffee machine without breaking it?
Just ask.
ChatGPT can give you quick, practical cleaning hacks that work.
And no, “just replace it” is not always the answer.
My wife once again uses this a lot when she wants to know which cleaning product would be best used for a specific cleaning situation.
It can also be like your personal Marie Kondo or Martha Stewart and give you advice on how to clean, arrange, or declutter your home or office.
Do you write stuff on your wall calendar, your planner, your smartphone calendar, and Post-it notes all over your desk?
Instead of juggling different apps or schedules, let ChatGPT create daily or weekly schedules tailored to your lifestyle.
You can even have it built in breaks, workouts, and time for hobbies, so you don’t burn out.
💡 Example: “Make me a weekly routine for working 9–5 while building my side hustle in the evenings.”
This is what I did. I made a 90 routine for my side-hustles after work. You can download my FREE PDF routine HERE.
And my video explaining my routine here:
No, it’s not a replacement for a certified trainer or doctor, but ChatGPT can help build beginner workout plans, create healthy grocery lists, or even provide motivational pep talks when you need them.
You can ask ChatGPT to create a workout routine for you by asking something like, "Give me a 20-minute workout you can do in your living room,”.
If you really want ChatGPT to go over and beyond to help you with health, you can ask it to create a 30-day meal plan, motivation, and a quick workout routine.
Then put it into Google Calendar or your email and schedule the daily routine for you each morning! That way, every morning you will wake up to an email message giving you motivation and things to do for the day.
Money stress is real.
ChatGPT can help you build simple budgets, track expenses, and even brainstorm side hustle ideas to bring in extra income (because coffee isn’t going to pay for itself).
I put in my income, my main expenses, and a rough amount of money I can save every month. I then asked ChatGPT to recommend ways to either invest or options on what to do with that extra money.
💡 Ask: “Give me a monthly budget for someone making $3,000 a month, with rent at $1,200, and who wants to save $200.”
This is one of the best uses of ChatGPT because it takes you right to the steps you need to do something without any obstacles.
Need to fix something around the house? Want to finally understand how taxes work? Or maybe you just want a crash course on photography?
ChatGPT can break down complicated topics into bite-sized, easy-to-understand steps. I use it a lot as a substitute for Google. When something is not working or I am getting errors in my editing software, ChatGPT guides me to possible fixes.
Think of it like YouTube tutorials… but without the 3-minute sponsored ad about razors.
Parents, this one’s for you.
ChatGPT can suggest fun rainy-day activities, bedtime stories, or even quick educational games for kids. It’s like a creativity booster when your brain is fried after work.
Now I don't have kids, but I do have a puppy. So when I am stuck indoors on a rainy day and I can't take my dog for a walk, I sometimes ask ChatGPT for some fun indoor activities. So far, my favorite suggestion is rolling treats into a towel and letting my dog figure out how to unravel them.
Once again, you could spend time going to activity websites, blogs, searching Google, or looking through magazines and newspapers.
But ChatGPT does the work in seconds and uses all these sources to give you the same information instantly.
This might sound weird because AI is not human and doesn't have human emotions, so why would it be good to help you feel better?
But life gets overwhelming. Sometimes you don't have time or money to see a psychologist or counselor. Maybe your friends and family are busy with their own lives. Or sometimes the issue is not too serious.
Maybe you just need a little pep talk, a mindfulness exercise, or a gratitude list to reset your brain.
ChatGPT can act as your pocket cheerleader, reminding you that you’re not just surviving, you’re doing great. I'm not saying it will replace any mental health professionals, but it's definitely a great listening partner. And it won't just judge you like my wife does!
AI isn’t here to take over your life; it’s here to make it easier. ChatGPT can be a personal assistant, travel agent, recipe finder, cleaning coach, and therapist-lite all rolled into one.
So instead of fearing AI, why not put it to work for you?
Your future self (the one who actually remembered to take chicken out of the freezer because ChatGPT reminded you) will thank you.
If you want to read my book Only Regrets, which talks about my life adventures while providing people with a motivational jump to follow their dreams, you can get it HERE!
I used ChatGPT to be my proofreader, so I guess that is reason 11 to use ChatGPT!
